Marjorie Baer

San Francisco, California

Marjorie Baer's career began on the steps of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in the late 1960's/ It was there that the recent Berkeley grad displayed her first group of handcrafted necklaces, braceltes and earring- the pioneering pieces that would lay the groundwork for 28 years of collections. Marjorie's jewelry reflects both her life-long love of hands-on creativity and her training as a craftsperson. Inspiration comes for art (the recent Max Ernst retrospective was a jolt), travel (Balinese culture calling), and staying tuned-in to what modern women want (just watching the workld go by). After working out hte design of each piece the metals are hammered, soldered and finished by her skilled team right her in San Francisco.
